Most 5k’s are run in the morning and are ‘serious business’. But there is a unique 5k event at night in Milwaukee, it’s the Storm the Bastille 5k! There’s a group of us running it, so look to meet us out in front of Real Chili on Wells before the race. We’ll be meeting at 8pm and probably stay near there until the start of the race.
Runners and walkers kick off Bastille Days with the annual “Storming of the Bastille,” in honor of the 18th century attack on the Bastille prison in Paris. The 5-K run and 2-mile walk will take place on on opening night of the festival. Every year, participants run & walk through the streets of downtown Milwaukee and the Historic Third Ward before and after enjoying the festivities of Bastille Days.
