Lunch Hour Workouts

Because I have a need to keep things fresh in my workouts, on a whim one day a few weeks ago, I tried a quick lunch hour workout. I happened to love it!

Whether you want to mix things up, or if you HAVE to do lunch hour workouts because of time constraints, here are some tips to make the most of your workout. These noon sessions can be good for people who work too early in the morning to get in a workout before work, and are wiped out by the end of the day because of . . . → Read More: Lunch Hour Workouts

Where to Get Fit in MKE: Le Club

I’m on a mission to find a new gym. I’m exploring not only gyms that *I’m* interested in, but also those that I know I may not join – because I like to know and share what’s out there. I’ll report my findings with some simple highlights, and hopefully extend an offer or two your way.

I had an opportunity to try a new gym yesterday. However, I can’t really call Le Club a gym! There’s so much more than machines at there. It’s more of an family activity and fitness center.  Becky Kolar, a . . . → Read More: Where to Get Fit in MKE: Le Club

Personal Training For the Win

I’ve never had a session with a personal trainer before. (Well, until this past week. But we’ll get to that.)  To be truthful I’ve always found it a bit intimidating. I mean, I’ve seen Jillian Michaels on tv. Do I really want somebody to scream and make me work so hard that I start to cry? Not only does your body start burning fewer calories if you do the exact same workout every day, but you also run the risk of growing bored and burning out. . . . → Read More: Boredom Be Gone

Gym Humiliation: Embarrassing exercise moments

We’ve all had them. A slip. A fall. A trip. A drop. An inopportune fart. A wardrobe malfunction. But when you’re at the gym, these embarrassing moments can be amplified in severity because you are surrounded by people you don’t know.

Last week, I asked my Twitter/Facebook/DailyMile friends to share some of their embarrassing moments. And just because I couldn’t ask them (or you) to share without sharing myself… I’ll point you in the direction of two recent blog posts, dealing with farting at the gym and a wardrobe malfunction.

Mix It Up

Is the time change killing your workouts? I don’t know about you but this week really had a strange effect on me with the sun setting so early all of a sudden. It seems these past few days that by 5:30pm now all I want to do is curl up with a blanket and a good book. One of my favorite things over the summer was to run by the lake at sunset, but now unless I want to do this in the middle of the afternoon it looks like I’ll have to wait until spring. I’ve been mentally . . . → Read More: Mix It Up
