Right now I’m in the process of planning out my summer. Although there are tons of events that I’m looking forward to for myself, I’m also wondering what on earth am I going to do to occupy my kids for three whole months? Girls on the Run Comes to Bay View!

Over the past couple of months I’ve been lucky to come into contact with a great little organization called Girls on the Run. Who are they exactly? In a nutshell, they provide a 5K run/walk training program for girls ages 8 to 13 that focuses not only on physical health and fitness, but self-esteem, teamwork and emotional fitness as well. Fit Kids

I’m writing this on Mother’s Day so naturally my kids are on my mind. I have two daughters, ages 6 and 9 1/2. I’ve written before about girls and body image and how it scares the bejeezus out of me,but today I wanted to talk about the positive things I’ve been able to do with my kids to help them stay healthy. Body Image and Parenting

I have two daughters, ages 6 and 9 1/2. Like all parents I try to be a positive role to my kids- especially with it comes to health and fitness. My older daughter is in fourth grade now though and we’re already starting to enter one of the territories I’ve been fearing ever since the ultrasound tech told me, “It’s a girl!”.
