Now that the Indoor Marathon relay events are over, you’re just itching to get back to the Pettit for a run, aren’t you? I know we are! We’re looking forward to the Stride & Glide at the Pettit, and this year they’ve added an outdoor 5k next door at State Fair. Read on for more information about the events:

The big day is coming up: the Milwaukee-area runner’s reunion that we refer to as the Icebreaker Indoor Marathon Relay! Here are a few tips to get you through the day… sort of like an FAQ from what we’ve learned in previous years.
Team Pit Areas: When you arrive at the Pettit Center, once your team captain has picked up your team’s race bag, you will be able to claim a spot for your team along the side of the track. Here’s how it works: have your team captain ask the team 3-4 interview questions, and then send us the responses along with a picture of each team member to anne@fitmilwaukee.com. Then, over the course of the next two months we’ll feature each team on our site. See the team profiles from last year for inspiration.

It’s almost here! After weeks of profiling teams, the Icebreaker Indoor Marathon Relay is THIS WEEKEND! Hopefully if you have registered for Saturday’s event you’re ready for a great race. Does your team have a strategy? Wondering what to expect? Well, we’ve compiled a list of tips for your team to consider. (Some of these may even apply for those of you running the 5K, half or full marathon.)

Lace up your ice skates because the outdoor skating rink is open for the season! Red Arrow Park is located downtown at 920 N. Water St. and is a fun way to get a little exercise while spending time with family and friends. Skate rental is only $7 a pair or skate for free if you bring your own. So why not bundle up and head down for a few laps? Hours are as follows:
Monday-Thursday: 11AM to 9PM
Friday-Saturday: 11AM to 11PM
Sunday- 11AM to 8PM

You know you want to be one of the cool kids on a Fit Milwaukee Indoor Marathon Relay team January 22, 2011. In order to guarantee your place on a team, you need to fill out this form no later than 5 p.m. October 27, 2010.
Fit Milwaukee will be meeting this week to assign team captains and teams… and there will be some incentive for your team captain to register your team early… at least one of our teams will have their registration fee refunded! That means your team will get to run for free!
