We may have a new tradition on our hands! The Great Milwaukee Race 2010 inaugural year was a huge success! We are so glad you all came out to play on such a perfect day. The scavenger hunt caused quite a commotion downtown! We even got a mention in the Journal Sentinel!
At the start, teams received an envelope of clues, a list of bonus challenges, and a map. Some teams sat down before they left and plotted their route, and some took off straightaway to the first clue they solved. When they arrived at each clue stop, they had to complete a challenge in order to move on. At some of the stops they had to locate a plaque or count something. Some stops had them guessing how many bubblegum were in a jar or solving a word search. There were several challenges that tested racers’ physical endurance, such as a three-legged race, wheelbarrow race, potato sack race, or running up and down the courthouse stairs. We ended at the Ale House where we all enjoyed some refreshments and chatted about the chaos on the course!
A blogger from team Team PB & M (whose team took 5th place) recaps his race experience – compare it to your own or find out what you missed! The Beer Runner also summed up his experience about the day. His team took third place!
We had a few photographers out on the course snapping pics of your shenanigans! You may see your team in some of them. Check out the Flickr photo galleries. Feel free to use the pictures with photographers credit.
